You have to admire Kerri Chandler for sticking to his guns. Continuing to push the purest forms of house music 15 years into his career, and still setting the genre benchmark in terms of quality is certainly a considerable achievement.

His own Grei Matter label, which has without doubt has hit the ground running, is the abode here for his latest output.

The title track offers up a well versed, deep house style vocal that whilst not re-writing the rulebook, does deliver the intended.

As you’d imagine with Chandler, this track is bathed in old-school sounds and styles, the synths in particular being culpable, squelching about the place with their filter’s resonance tweaked to bursting.

If your not feeling the vocal, an instrumental is included for good measure.

‘Je’taime’ on the flip is a buoyant little number, punctuated by summery strums of an acoustic guitar and a half spoken, half sang vocal delivery.

Staccato bass notes and tight, jerky beats typify the overall upbeat mood the above elements convey.

While this is by no means in the upper reaches of Chandler’s previous offerings, you have to believe that his efforts at 75% are still a damn sight stronger than the majority of the competition.
