Romania seems to be the latest hotbed of new talent when it comes to dance music and Ali Nasser is definitely one of the country’s best kept secrets. We were lucky enough to snap him up for Supernature last year and here he presents us with the great Omul EP.

The old school reference of “Omul Care Nu Se Duce” will take you back in time but the arrangement is very modern and updated for the needs of today’s dancefloor. Whether you hear this track in Berlin, New York or London it will surely leave a lasting impression!

The Afrilounge remix takes it in a deeper, more ‘tracky’ direction but without forgetting the old school feel of the original. On the B-side “Get Down The Funk” does exactly what is says on the tin, with Ali’s seriously funked-up beats and repetitive vocal making this very a very infectious little groover.

Finally Kevin Griffiths from Tsuba Records provides a darker interpretation of “Omul Care Nu Se Duce”. Fans of his work won’t be disappointed with his remix for Mr Nasser. Watch out for more from this talented Romanian musician on Supernature later in 2009.
