Addictive TV remixes the Olympics

Highy acclaimed VJs Addictive TV are back at work with the 2008 Olympic games as their set target.

“Sportive”, the video above, was created as a part of Adidas’ touring exhibition, and what you see is precisely what it appears to be:  Pulled from Adidas’ archives, the Addictive TV crew created this montage, layering and overlapping clips of athletes in action, with the only additional sound being that of a human heartbeat.

The exhibition has toured seven cities in China since last November, and is fittingly in Beijing right now, before it moves on to Hong Kong.

The real highlight here, however, is that in some kind of daredevil stunt, the Addictive TV duo is going to be remixing the Olympic games from live feeds and broadcasting them on their own live channel for up to five hours a day on August 16th and 17th.

This groundbreaking television project will take place in real time in Vienna, Austria, as part of the State Broadcaster, ORF’s interactive services during the Beijing games.

But if you miss it, there are plenty more opportunities to catch Addictive TV performing their craft: Opening their set with “Sportive”, you can catch them performing at their huge annual outdoor party by the Thames in London on August 22nd, with projections on to the 25-meter fly tower as the focal point.

Other upcoming dates include Liverpool for the Capital of Culture celebrations on Sept. 20th, Derby for the launch of Quad (the UK’s new media centre and BFI archive) on Sept. 27th, and also in Geneva, Paris, Moscow, São Paulo and Delhi.

Check out their MySpace page for full details.
