Adam Beyer rediscovers older works

Beatportal chatted with Swedish techno DJ Adam Beyer [a] yesterday, who revealed that after digging around his studio in Stockholm recently he re-discovered some early tracks of his that he now plans to release on his label Drumcode [l].

“The oldest one dates back to 2005 and is a third version of the Plus 8 project that I did,” said Beyer.

“Altogether there are five tracks, which I had laying around for a while that I liked but could never find the right project for. I’ve reworked them and updated some of them slightly and I feel they all belong together in one way or another.”

Adam Beyer also spoke of his joy for finally securing French funky techno producer Paul Ritch [a] for a forthcoming Drumcode release. “We’ve been talking for a long time about him doing something for the label and finally the release is ready. I’ve always liked Paul’s stuff so he is a very welcome addition to the ever-growing Drumcode roster.”

That roster in the last few years has grown to include Smith & Selway, Joey Beltram [a], Cari Lekebusch [a], Dustin Zahn [a], Kyle Geiger [a] and Advent & Industrialyser, as well as his label mainstays Joel Mull [a] and Alexi Delano [a], who will both play at the Drumcode party in Miami during the Winter Music Conference next month.

“The Drumcode party will be held on the Saturday at Glass,” said Adam. “It will probably consist of two rooms and will host DJs like Christian Smith, Alexi Delano, Joel Mull and myself, plus a few more not 100% confirmed yet, Paul Ritch will also do a live set promoting his new Drumcode record.”

Adam will also make an appearance at the Beatport Pool Party in Miami during WMC.
