We were so entranced by the short film AVTOBUS by Swod, that we sought out more - this time in the form of MAMAEV KURGAN.

Swod is a duo of musicians from Berlin, whose approach is part organic, part digital.

One half of the outfit, Stephan Wöhrmann, handles piano and drums; while Oliver Doerell handles guitar, bass and all manner of electronics.

Together, the two gentlemen create dreamy and introspective landscapes reminiscent of film.

So far, Swod have two albums out: Gehen (2004) and Sekunden (2007), both on Germany’s City Centre Offices label.
