10 December, 2008 | 8.16AMA New York classic re-released with a signature touch from Ritmo del Sol recordings.
The story behind this house classic being re-released is all about Omar Cito Perez
.
When he first started producing music, Omar Perez was a devoted house head and so spent most of his weekend nights at the temple of sound in Montreal, the famous Stereo afterhours championed by the likes of David Morales and Angel Moraes.
And so the New York sound at the time was a big influence to him and there was this one track that always commanded attention on the dance floor: Forget the World by the boys from NY Love John Creamer and Stephan K..
So when Omar"cito"Perez felt finally ready to tackle this classic. He did!
After many back and forth conciliating the schedules of the power at be, the wheels were in motion.
When asked about the amount of time and effort to have it re-released, this is what Omar"cito"Perez had to say.
“ The original version of Forget the world is the only track today that’s able to bring me back to those good old days of house. Not only does it feed me amazing memories but also reminds me of the journey I’ve been on for the past 5 years.
It was never a question for me to remix it...but better yet...when would i be ready to take on this challenge.
The time is here and now thanks to amazing mentorship that John provided ever since making the move towards producing.
I hope my beautiful people like it !”
So the long awaited release is said to be out exclusively to Beatport on December 26th.2008.
