Looking back on 2010

Whoever has been following Jewel Kid this year, can safely say that its been quite an explosive year for this uprising Maltese Producer.
The year began with his first E.P. released on infamous UK label – Cr2 Records – with tracks Gabur, Myokymia and R Dalam shooting up on Beatport charts making this a great way to start the year. The beginning of the year also saw a start to “Jewel’s Journal” ... a monthly podcast of current tracks and also live sets from Jewel Kid, which went down quite well, having hundreds of downloads each episode, with fans asking for more each month. At the same time, the new website was launched, getting loads of hits per day, featuring all releases and tour dates, news and direct links to twitter updates – http://www.jewelkid.net

After getting his personalized Dj Profile page on Beatport, Jewel Kid joined forces with Snake Record Bookings, for exclusive bookings in Brazil and South America. The first Brazil tour took place in October, where Jewel was showcased in various clubs for a full week of Sao Paolo clubbing till the early morning hours.

In the meantime, Jewel Kid was working hard in the studio, and releasing more bombs that were all Beatport hits. Some of these tracks included Xade, Musica and Wolly, also released on Cr2 Records, who then invited Jewel to join them on an unforgettable night at Space Ibiza for the album launch where all tracks were included. Massive support was coming along for these tracks, including David Guetta and Eddie Halliwell.

Next came a few months of studio lock down, which was quite well worth the wait, as Jewel Kid came out with a brand new debut album in hand. Cr2 Introducing JEWEL KID was released. The 14 track album contains brand new unheard material from Jewel Kid and all are exclusive to Cr2. In the meantime, Jewel Kid joined forces with Neurotraxx Deluxe – and released an EP with tracks Chaing Mai and Copola, also a great success.
Up comes Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) where Jewel Kid joined the Cr2 team at AIR for a massive night Cr2 vs Dirty Dutch. Being the first time attending ADE, Jewel Kid found it very successful, making new contacts and meeting some extraordinary people in the music business.  After days of meetings, some of the best contacts came from bumping into people, and from there Jewel Kid joined forces with Jetlag Bookings and Kronos Management.
Next Jewel Kid joined the new Italian label NATURA VIVA, releasing remixes and tracks that were supported by so many DJs, we would need another paragraph to fill them in!! Some names include Hermanez, Daniel Sanchez, Pirupa, Franceso Farfa and much much more.

Last few weeks of 2010 are seeing another studio lockdown… so be prepared in 2011 for what else is to come! We’re quite sure the new year will turn out to be as good as this… and better. Future’s looking bright for this maltese gem – stay tuned !!!
