2000 And One ‘Funk That’

I know this DJ Gossip blog is supposed to be about hot upfront new music, but after finally discovering the name of this track I had to share it with you.

Last September, Dutch DJ and producer 2000 And One released a double A side called ‘Freak That, Funk That’ on Intacto Records.

I missed it, but Richie Hawtin, Magda and what seems like the whole techno industry snatched it up for ‘Funk That’, a superb loop-based techno stomper.

The track is simple, yet devastating. There’s nothing really more to say.

Except, coming in at almost eight minutes, ‘Funk That’ is also a fun DJ tool to mix with other tracks.

Use it as the rhythmic basis and drop other beats, acapellas and sounds over the top. What a tune!
