10 Years Treibstoff
10 Years Treibstoff
Various Artists [Treibstoff]
14 February, 2008 | 11.14PMIf the city of Cologne were to ever disappear overnight, it would take an alarming number of techno’s most essential labels with it.
Kompakt and the Traum family of labels are its most significant contributors, but Treibstoff![[a]](http://www.beatportal.com/images/site/misc/wiki_box_a.gif)
, their smaller but nonetheless important neighbour, has earned a reputation for solid, dancefloor techno over the years as well, starting with a slew of productions from the label’s co-founder René Breitbarth.
Treibstoff is also known for helping launch producers like Sara Goldfarb or Gabriel Ananda, their biggest artistic find to date.
Now they celebrate ten years of business and partying under the Treibstoff flag with a compilation celebrating the best of their back catalogue.
The release comprises two CDs; one is a mix by one of the label’s founders Marcel Janovsky featuring new tracks, while the second contains unmixed Treibstoff classics (Ananda’s ‘Suessholz’ from 2004 is probably worth the price alone).
In digital form on Beatport, you can get Marcel’s mix and an EP of three new tracks, including an intense new cut from Ananda as well as the label’s back catalogue if you feel like rooting for treasures.
The label are also celebrated their birthday with a series of club dates across Europe.
