For the first time Defected comes to Nagoya, Japan with Stacy Kidd, the veteran Chicago House Maestro, the latest addition to their roster.

It would be hard right now to imagine house music without Defected Records. The label is a key player on the international dance music scene and has attracted some of the greatest talents working in the industry. Since its start in 1999, UK based Defected has consistently come out with chart-topping, uplifting house and soulful crossover hits. All the tracks to be released are careful handpicked for their quality and it is only natural that so many of them end up becoming club classics.

Defected had an unparalleled roster of over 100 of the most sought after artists like Ame, Blaze, Bob Sinclar, David Morales, Dennis Ferrer, Dimitri from Paris, DJ Gregory, Junior Jack, Kings of Tomorrow, Martin Solveig and Satoshi Tomiie, The originality and creativity of the diverse range of music made by these producers continue to captivate and inspire thousands of listeners across the world.

Defected have gained the respect of club audiences with their events in the world’s best clubs and currently run a night that has record-breaking attendance every summer at Pacha in Ibiza.

In Japan Defected artists have played at Tokyo’s club Yellow and Osaka’s Grand Cafe where they have been supported by Japanese DJ’s Fantastic Plastic Machine and Yoku (A Hundred Birds). Japanese artists with releases on Defected include Studio Apartment’s Flight and Jazztronik who were the first Japanese people to mix a CD for the hugely successful “In the House” series. Since “Jazztronik In the House” was released in September 2007, Defected have held regular parties at Air.

Stacy Kidd originates from Chicago, U.S.A - the home of house. He began DJing in 1987 - at first using 2 tape decks to mix. In the early 90’ s he began producing music and was soon getting releases on labels like Maw, Dusttraxx, Ministry of Sound, Warner and Sony music. In 2007 Chicago’s underground house maestro debuted on Defected with his old-skool flavoured “The Movement.” This hit success lead to his world Defected Movement Tour.

Stacy has DJed and worked with artists such as Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Tony Humphries, DJ Sneak and Frankie Knuckles as well as singers like Joi Williams and Barbara Tucker. His tracks get played by the world’s top DJ’s and are in the compliations of Masters at Work, Derrick Carter and a number of the Defected In the House series. He also has worked outside the house scene with Daft Punk, R Kelly, Diddy, Nelly and Sean Paul.

Outside the studio, Stacy has influenced many with his unique style of blending uplifting, soulful vocal and retro samples with deep underground Chicago house to perfection. His sets also never fail to deliver time honored disco licks with driving four to the floor beats. He has played across the world in Ibiza, New York, London, Paris, Sydney and at Tokyo’s Womb. This year he will return to Japan as part of his Defected Movement Tour playing at Air in Tokyo and coming to JB’s on March 7th before going to the biggest event in the dance music industry - the Winter Music Conference in Miami.
