Heaven club, located under the railway arches of Charing Cross train station, is one of London’s oldest and biggest gay clubs. It opened in December 1979.
More than any other venue in the UK, it helped bring gay clubbing into the mainstream, and in 1983 Richard Branson’s Virgin group acquired the venue.
In 1998 the club underwent a major refurbishment and reopened. It is now home to John Digweed’s long-running club night Bedrock, as well as a plethora of hardhouse and trance nights.
