Berlin preview: Panorama turns three this weekend
Berlin preview: Panorama turns three this weekend
13 December, 2007 | 9.23AMIt’s hard to believe the Berghain, the converted power station that’s home to the Panorama Bar is only three years old.
Especially if you consider how in such a short space of time it has quickly become one of Europe’s premier trendsetting underground clubs to rank up there alongside DC10, Fabric or Cocoon Ibiza.
It has accomplished this with a rigidly quality lineup selection, an impressive array of residents and regulars (think Andre Galluzi, Cassy, DJ T, Dinky, Sasse) and one of the most eclectic selection of ravers in the world.
Gay, straight, crazy, decadent, fashionistas, ravers or fancy dress freaks all are welcome on the club’s dancefloor as long as they bring the right attitude and make an effort to add to the mix of people (hint: if you wear Ben Sherman or dress like an IT worker on an office night out then you’re not going to get in).
For the birthday they’ve selected a mix of dance music’s current leading trendsetters and their favourite residents.
Luke Slater, Ben Klock, Ryan Elliot, Marcel Dettman, Loco Dice, Audion, Cassy, Konrad Black, Tama Sumo and Sasse [check out Sasse’s music in the player below] feature on the bill and if you’re lucky enough to be in Berlin this weekend, get down there early as queuing in the freezing cold for hours on end is not the best way to spend your time in Berlin.
