Youness Raji, better known as U-Ness, is a moroccan-belgian producer who was born in 1979. The first contact with the world of music was not headphones and turntables but the radio!, which he began listening at the tender age of 8. However, Youness would soon leave the world of 80s behind and develop an interest in house music. Despite his deepest love of music, Youness (discribing himself as a professional amateur) never dreamt of pursuing a career in the music world, orienting himself instead towards a degree in economic studies. Started to produce tracks around 1997 It was in the beginning of 2004 that he produced his first infectious housy-airintheair-tunes which supports for such great artists as John Acquaviva, Romain Tranchart (Modjo), The Youngsters (F-Comm), Second Sun, Lost Witness (Ministry Of Sound), Nick Ferrando (De Nuit), Stefano Sorrentino (Stellar Project) and loads more. During 2004 U-Ness signed his first deal with the UK digital distribution imprint Essential Direct and featured with such famous producers as Full Intention, Soul Avengerz and Seamus Haji (Big Love). The last 2 years have seen U-Ness gather a wealth of musical experience and knowledge with solo deals with D’lectable USA (Ron Caroll, Dj Sneak, Roy David Jr...) and Queep Organic House. Armed with his decent background, it made sense to set up his own record label, SoulHeat Records, a soulfull/deep house imprint who’s dealing in the worldwide digital market with majors stores as Beatport, Juno and more SoulHeat has, in a very short time, a constant increasing reputation for providing smashin’ quality music from talented artists.with some big names supports includes DJ MEME (Defected, Soulfuric, Knee Deep), RICHARD EARNSHAW, SAEED YOUNAN, TONY HUMPHRIES, LIL DEVIOUS, RICHARD MURRAY (Ministry Of Sound Housexy Resident) and loads more...U-Ness released his critically acclaimed debut album “2wenty4our7even” late 2007 defined as “ a fantastic offering” by MINISTRY OF SOUND D’LOAD and supported by the ones as ROY ROX -SUNFREAKZ (Defected) and STEREOFUNK (Positiva) to name but a few ! 2008 has kicked off as strongly as 2007 for U-Ness with the release of “A Tu Lado” feat the superb vocal effort from Robina supported by DAVID DUNNE (Hed Kandi) Afterlife (Defected) Richard Earnshaw and loads more featured on the Hed Kandi Beach House 2008 who reached the number 1 spot in UK !
