Sebo K has long been a key figure in Berlin’s electronic dance music community. Now, thanks to his releases on the mobilee label including “Rancho Relaxo” (co-produced with Anja Schneider), “Moved” (featuring Prosumer), and his recent chart-topping single ‘’Diva,’’ he has become an unstoppable force on the scene. His mix-CD Back Up Vol. 01 introduces audiences far and wide to his abilities as a first-rate DJ, effortlessly bridging the worlds of minimal techno and classic deep house.

Like so many others, Sebo K began DJing in the early 90s, finding his footing as a resident DJ at Alec Empire’s Bass Terror, Berlin’s first UK breakbeat party. By the mid 90s he had discovered his love for Chicago house and Detroit techno—a passion evident to anyone who has heard the vintage depths of his 2005 track “Moved”—and, at the turn of the decade, began his residency at Berlin’s legendary POGO club. Since then Sebo K has become a resident at Berlin’s Watergate.

Sebo K’s productions for mobilee have established his position as amazingly talented producer and a formidable player in the scene. His collaboration with Anja Schneider on the “Rancho Relaxo”/”Side Leaps” EP (mobilee 003) reached no. 9 on Groove’s charts, and has gone on to be an enduring staple in the crates of DJs worldwide. Furthermore, his double A-side EP for the mobilee, “Horizons” and “Moved” (mobilee 007)—the latter featuring the vocal talents of Playhouse/240 Volts artist Prosumer—has reinforced the importance of house for a new generation of minimal lovers. Sebo K’s tracks have turned up on all manner of compilations and mix-CDs, including DJ Hell’s Misch Masch and Richie Hawtin’s Mixmag cover-mount CD while his remixes for the likes of Martin Landsky, King Roc and John Dahlbäck are making his rep shine even brighter; his debut single for Get Physical, “Transit” (produced with his frequent collaborator Metro) sees Sebo K reaching new levels of acclaim. With an unparalleled sense of pulse and soul, Sebo K is just beginning to hit his stride.
