Giulio Andreini is a dj and producer, performing and releasing music as Scary Grant and John Evans.
He was part of the Eclat project (Music For Freaks, Moodmusic, Morris Audio) from 2001 to 2006.
All along involved into music, Giulio’s early connection with the electronic scene was in the late 90’s as a photographer. In 1997-98 he cooperated with the Orbeat magazine (Naples) as its official photographer and some of his pictures were published on the magazines Rockerilla and Groove.
He shoot the cover photo for Richie Hawtin Decks EFX & 909 and Mr. Velcro Fastener Who’s Gonna Bend.
Taking his first inspirations by labels such as Incoming, Studio 1, Chain Reaction, Max Ernst, Giulioʼs interest and love for djing and music production grew until he decided to start making his own music.
His friendship and collaboration with Francesco Parra meant the beginning of Eclat, a project started in 2001. The duo were proposing a back-to-back dj set with glitchy and minimal-house sounds.
After performing in the main Italian festivals (Sintesi, Dissonanze, Distorsonie, Arezzo Wave) in 2002 their dj mix was selected by Red Bull Music Academy and Eclat were invited to participate at the Brazilian edition of the Academy which took place in Sao Paulo.
Back from Brazil, the duo took up music production and started a profitable collaboration with their friend Marzio Aricò (Prudo, DRM), which gave birth to the tracks that Luke Solomon wanted for his label Music For Freaks.
The tracks and the remixes that followed were released by the labels PIAS, Wash House, Music For Freaks, Select, Anorak, Trapez Ltd., Moodmusic Ltd., until their latest Revolution released by Morris Audio in August 2006.

After his last work in Eclat, Giulio decided to quit the project in order to focus himself on Scary Grant, his solo-project.
Since december 2006 Scary Grant has released on Lo Fi Stereo, Hi Freaks, Om Records (San Francisco) and Great Stuff Recordings under the moniker John Evans. A few tracks were included in compilations released by Om Records, Toolroom, Top Trax, Universal Music, ZYX
Music.
In 2009 heʼs been called for working on some remixes for Floran Kruse / Ciro Vesuviano, released on Save Room Recordings and for Stardub aka C-Rock to be released on Lo Fi Stereo.
Along with his production activity, Giulio has been djing as Scary Grant in Italy, Spain and Switzerland
