Laidback Luke, aka Luke van Scheppingen, was born on October 22, 1976 in Manila, Philippines.

At the age of four he moved to the Netherlands where he grew up and built a reputation as a graffiti artist before beginning his music career.  While growing up, he was introduced to DJ Dobre who inspired him to begin producing.

At the age of 18 he signed his first record deal and in 1995 he released ‘Act the Fool’ on Touché and ‘Loud Flava’ on Groove Alert Records.  The next year he released his remix of Green Velvet’s ‘Stalker’ on Music Man Records which received huge support from legend Carl Cox. 

1996 is also the year Luke began DJ’ing, quickly developing a unique, fast paced, style.  By 2005 he competed in the H2 Dutch DJ Battle and stole the reigns from the previous Dutch DMC champion.

His two studio albums, ‘Psyched Up’ on Touché and ‘Electronic Satisfaction’ on Virgin Records, both received positive feedback from house artists.  In 2003 his ‘We Can Not Get Enough’ release became the Dance Valley anthem and was recognized by Pete Tong. 

In ’04 Luke paired up with fellow DJ Steve Angello at the Winter Music Conference in Miami and the duo began producing together.  They released ‘Otherwize Then’ on Refune Records & ‘Sexy F**k’ on Steve’s Size Records two years later.

In 2007, Luke began remixing for names such as David Guetta and TV Rock and released his own ‘Rocking With The Best’ & ‘Break The House Down’. 

At the end of 2008, he released the live mix CD ‘Stealth Live’ on Roger Sanchez’s Stealth label and launched his residency at Amsterdam club Paradiso with his Nighttime Superheroes events.
