The existence of JPLS is one of reduction and abstraction. Ex-mathematician and techno producer for over 10 years now, his background is as varied as the material he releases. Usually finding solace in the sparsely populated cornfields of Indiana, JPLS has made his way through the world to provide an experience in minimalism not usually encountered. Hyper precise rhythms and a love for very low frequencies mark him as outsider in the current trends of today’s cluttered world of techno.

From his first release with Minus, “Program”, JPLS has pushed the
boundaries of balancing dance floor cuts with ultra sparse approaches.
Within one year, he has already released his first full length debut album
“twilite” and headlined events at Sonar2007 and Ibiza with Magda and Troy Pierce. At the end of October, Minus will have unveiled the 3rd JPLS
cognitive explosion, the “Fuckshuffle EP”.

For JPLS, each track is symbolic of a very abstract world. These ideas lack any ability to be described verbally. But, with each sound a further
understanding into the interactions of these places can be found.
