Minilogue
, aka Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson, are two minimal producers and DJs from Malmö, Sweden.
The name Minilogue comes from the word minimal and dialogue, which refers to music as a form of communication.
As a child, Sebastian played a wide range of classical instruments and went on to teach violin in his teens. At 18 he joined a band, but quickly moved on to the electronic sound. Soon after he began organizing and throwing parties which is where he met Marcus.
The duo went on as Son Kite
and Trimatic, playing trance sets across the globe.
When they moved on to the Minilogue alias they left the trance genre and began production in several other genres including minimal, tech house, deep house, and techno.
In June 2008 they released their ‘Animals’ album on Cocoon Recordings
. The album took three years to complete, but along with the audio, imaginary animals were created to add a visual effect. The production is also one part ambient/electronica, and one part club/dancefloor-centric.
