The Jet Project was formed after a few back to back dj sets in Belfast led the guys to realise they both shared the same love of solid dance floor electronics. The next logical step was to take all their influences and experience as djs and producers and combine them in the studio. Their sound is very much en vogue right now, from deep and dubby tech house to thundering peak time techno, support for their material to date has come from Andrew Weatherall, Francois K, Laurent Garnier, John Digweed, Heidi & M.A.N.D.Y.
Timmy Stewart & John McIver followed up a series of killer EPs for Silicone Soul’s Darkroom Dubs label with their “Heads In The Clouds” long player that secured them the album of the month slot in iDJ magazine this Summer. They’ve also put their deft remix touches to Scoper & Bubba, the Two Lone Swordsmen, Matt Playford, Silicone Soul, M.in, Android Cartel, Sian & Deepchild amongst others.
Their recent Black Arts EP on Steve Lawler’s VIVa Music spawned the club smash Tooth N Bone which won them legions of new fans and the first four releases on their newly founded Extended Play imprint with Chris Duckenfield (Swag) has earned them even more props from heads as diverse as Dixon and Claude Von Stroke.
With their latest material signed by Berlin’s mighty Get Physical stable & Paul Woolford’s Detroit inspired Intimacy label and a host of killer remixes and singles set to drop in the coming months, not to mention their successful side projects as Yankee Zulu and Bubba & T-Bone, it’s safe to say the Jet Project are cleared for take off.

The Jet Project are Belfast duo Timmy Stewart & John McIver. They’re resident djs at the Stiff Kitten and Shine and therefore know a thing or two about discerning house and techno grooves. Their production outfit was formed after a few back to back dj sessions led the guys to realise they both shared the same love of solid dance floor electronics. The next logical step, to take all their influences and experience as djs and bring them to the studio.
The main aim is to generate solid house and techno tracks that can be dropped in peak time sets by djs the world over. Their debut Time Flies and Shudder E.P.s were picked up by Silicone Soul’s Darkroom Dubs
imprint and have literally been raising the roof everywhere they’ve been played to date with dj support coming from the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Francois K and Laurent Garnier (the latter even used Time Flies in his recent Dj mix for Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space Show).
The guys also compiled and mixed the Northern Irish cover mount CD for IDj mag and their “Find Yourself Tonight” track featured on Murray Richardson & Stuart Patterson’s Rebel Waltz mix for Dj magazine. They’ve put their deft remix touches to the Spirals “We Have Control”, Scoper & Bubba’s “I’m Satisfied”, Harold Heath’s “Rubber Back”, Fergie’s “Anon”, Two Lone Swordsmen’s “Shack 54” (which was featured on John Digweed’s latest Transitions Mix compilation for Renaissance and led to a guest mix for John’s Kiss FM show of the same name), as well as new Soma and Darkroom signing’s Mirror Music, Manta Electrica and Matt Playford’s Analogue Tear track for Paul Woolford’s Intimacy
imprint.
More recently they released two follow up E.Ps on Darkroom Dubs entitled The Lions Roar and Barrio as well as the double A-sider of Saberforce & Pulse for Dublin’s Acii-tone which all received major support and radio play from the international dj community with “Barrio” gaining the tune of the month accolade in DMC’s update magazine. Soon to be followed by the remix EP, Jet Project Remixed Pt 1 and a sampler for their debut album entitled “Heads In The Clouds” which gets a full release on Darkroom/Soma in Summer 09. They rocked the foundations of Slam’s Pressure night at the Arches in Glasgow with their recent guest dj slot and their Jet Project monthly club night at the Stiff Kitten in Belfast is literally going from strength to strength and providing the opportunity to invite some of their favourite dj’s to join them in Belfast on a regular basis.
They’ve just signed brand new material to Steve Lawler’s Viva label and are about to launch their own Extended Play label this year in collaboration with good friend and respected Sheffield dj Chris Duckenfield (Swag).
