Carl Craig is a second generation Detroit techno producer and DJ.

Carl Craig’s approach to techno is sometimes said to be different to that of his contemporaries as he draws inspiration from a wide range of musical genres, including jazz and soul music.

Carl Craig runs the record label Planet E Communications and uses the label to release his own music, plus the work of other techno luminaries such as Kevin Saunderson, Moodymann and Alton Miller.

In his home city, Craig is the co-founder of the annual Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) and recently he collaborated with Moritz Von Oswald, one half of dub techno pioneering group Basic Channel.
