is a British drum & bass DJ, often named as the ‘godfather’ of the genre.
His involvement in the development of drum & bass has been crucial, particularly for the UK underground scene.
Grooverider along with his DJ partner and friend Fabio has hosted a late night drum & bass show on BBC Radio 1 for many years.
In 2002, Grooverider won a ‘Best DJ’ award at the MOBOs.
In 2007, Grooverider was arrested at Dubai airport after police found a small amount of marijuana in his luggage.
After a short trial, Grooverider was sentenced to four years in a Dubai prison.
In September 2008, Grooverider was freed, after spending almost 11 months in jail.
